Khaleda tests Covid-19 positive

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has tested positive for Covid-19.
The Business Insider Bangladesh got her Covid-19 test report on Sunday.
According to the report, 74-year-old Khalda Zia’s Covid-19 sample was tested by the International Centre for Diarrheal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) lab with RT-PCR method.
Health Ministry spokesperson Maidul Islam also confirmed the matter to the media.
However, Khaleda Zia's press wing said it is a rumour.
The sample was tested on Saturday and the result came positive the same day.
Khaleda Zia is already suffering from old-age complications including diabetes, eye problems and arthritis. She is now on temporary bail.
The former prime minister of Bangladesh was sentenced to serve five years in prison in the corruption case file against Zia Orphanage Trust. There are as many as 34 cases filed against her.
Khaleda Zia received a temporary bail on March 25 last year, when the country witnessed a surge in Covid-19 cases.
The bail term has been extended several times after that. But under the condition that she will not be able to leave the country during this time.
