5 women to get Joyeeta award

The government will give five women with “Joyeeta Sammanaona” in recognition for their contribution to society.

Ministry of Women and Children Affairs will give the awards at a programme to be held at Bangladesh Shishu Academy at 10:00am on Monday, marking International Women’s Day.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will join the programme as chief guest from her official residence Ganobhaban.

State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa Indira, on behalf of the prime minister, will hand over a cheque for Tk1 lakh, a crest and a certificate to each of the five recipients.

The five women are: Hasina Begum Nila from Barishal, Miftahul Jannat from Bagura, Helennosa Begum from Patuakhali, Rabi Jan from Tangail and Anjana Bala Biswas from Narail.
