Light to moderate rain likely

Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecast light to moderate rain at many places of the country in the next 24 hours commencing 9am on Tuesday.

Light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, said the BMD in its updated bulletin.

The same weather could also prevail over few places in Dhaka and Barishal divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, according to the BMD.

The monsoon axis runs through Bihar, West Bengal and thence northeastwards to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay, it added.

Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
