The High Court has ordered the government to form an inquiry commission to find out the people who were engaged in hatching conspiracy against the Padma Multipurpose Bridge project.

Taking the report into cognizance, the HC issued a suo moto rule on December 20, 2017.

In its rule, the High Court asked the government to explain why it shall not be directed to constitute a commission to detect the conspirators who made baseless allegations of corruption in the Padma Bridge project.

The court also wanted to know why the perpetrators shall not be punished.

The Cabinet Secretary, the Home Secretary, the Inspector General of Police, the Communications Secretary and the Anti-Corruption Commission Chairman have been made respondents to reply to the rule.
