Army patrol is on to maintain law and order on Padma Bridge

The Padma Multipurpose Bridge authority has deployed members of Bangladesh Army for patrolling Padma Bridge to face any law and order situation, especially enthusiastic peoples' attempt to take selfies or go FB live from the bridge railing creating hazards to the fast moving traffic.

Apart from this, the vigilance of intelligence agencies has been beefed up on the bridge as a person has already been detained for his alleged attempt to remove bolts of the bridge on the first day of its opening, according to an official of the Bridges Division.

The members of the law enforcement agencies are also calling upon people using loudspeakers not to get down on the bridge and take selfies while crossing the bridge.

Soon after inauguration of the bridge, people riding motorbikes thronged the bridge and started moving erratically and most of them were seen taking selfies that disrupted smooth vehicular movement.

Many of them were also seen making TikTok videos on their own, amid the situation the bridge authority has undertaken measures to ensure law and order on the bridge.
