PKSF donates Tk 2cr for flood victims

Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), an apex government-funded development organisation, has donated nearly Tk 2 crore for the flood-hit people in Sylhet and Sunamganj.

The fund worth Tk 1.98 crore will be used for providing food items on an emergency basis, water purification tablets and saline among the people affected by the unprecedented flood in the area, said a press release on Tuesday.

The humanitarian relief work is being conducted in association with 11 organisations and 99 branch offices of the PKSF, it said.

Considering the aftermath of the flood, the PKSF said it is also taking preparation to strengthen the relief activities in the flood-stricken area.

A special committee has been formed to oversee the overall situation in the flooding area and devised a framework to stand beside the people in flood and post-flood period, it said.
