Offices asked to operate with half manpower from Monday

The government has directed all public and private offices to operate with half their workforce for 14 days from January 24 (Monday) to February 6.

The Cabinet Division issued a notification in this regard on Sunday.

The notification also said the other half of the workforce can carry out their official activities virtually.

It also directed officials of all government, semi-government, autonomous and private institutions not to move from their workplace locations.

The government on January 21 announced the closure of all educational institutions for two weeks till 6 February.

These latest moves come amid a worsening condition of Covid situation in the country.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Sunday reported 12 deaths and 10,906 new cases of Covid-19.

The positivity rate stood at 31.29 percent after testing 34,854 samples across the country.
