‘Banned outfit member’ arrested

A team of Anti Terrorism Unit (ATU) arrested a suspected member of the banned Islamic outfit “Allahr Dal” at Savar in Dhaka on Tuesday night.

Tipped off, a special team of a special unit of ATU, a special unit of Bangladesh police, raided a house at Savar, the outskirt of the capital, and arrested Atiqur Rahman.

In a press release, Mohammad Aslam Khan, SP of Media and Awareness Wing of ATU, told Atiqur Rahman was an active member of the banned outfit and used to collect members for his outfit through online platform.

Atiqur was an employee of a private organisation in Savar and hailed from Pabna district.

He was accused of a case lodged with the Tejgaon police station of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
