Ekushey Book Fair rescheduled, to begin from Feb 15

The government has taken decision to defer the Ekushey Book Fair for two weeks. Now, the fair that was slated to be kicked off from February 1 will start from February 15 following the revised schedule.
Bangla Academy organises the fair every year. Muhammad Nurul Huda, director general (DG) of the academy informed the rescheduling of the fair to media on Sunday.
He said, “We are yet to get official letter. But we came to know that decision has been taken to start the fair two weeks later than the prescheduled date.”
The ministry of cultural affairs told media that the issue of deferring the book fair was informed to the Bangla Academy.
State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid also informed the matter of rescheduling the fair to the DG of Bangla Academy, said the ministry.
