Nobody will be allowed to enter Narayanganj on Sunday without showing their National Identity (NID) cards to hold the election peacefully, said Md Zaidul Alam, police superintendent of the district.
He made the remark on Saturday while addressing a press conference over the Narayanganj City Corporation (NCC) election.
The city will go for its third city corporation election on Sunday.
Alam said, “We are not expecting any electoral violence. No outsiders will be allowed to enter in Narayangaj. The national identity card of everyone will be checked. So, please carry your NID cards when you are out of home on Sunday.”
The police super also said no candidates have lodged any written complaint about harassment or obstruction.
The candidates conducted electioneering in a festive manner, added Alam.
