Bangladeshi calligrapher of Kaaba acquires citizenship of Saudi Arabia

Muktar Alim, a calligrapher from Gilaf (Kiswah) of the Holy Kaaba, of Chittagong has obtained citizenship of Saudi Arabia.

He is working as a chief calligrapher for the ghilaf producer at the Holy Kaaba in Mecca.

His main handwriting has been exhibited in various international exhibitions and forums.

He has given important lessons in the training of calligraphy skills, and his calligraphy lessons are taught at the Institute of the Holy Mosques in Mecca.

A royal decree from the king of Saudi Arabia recently granted citizenship to skilled foreign nationals of various professions, and Muktar obtained citizenship on the first day, along with four other people, after the announcement, reports Saudi Gazette.

The royal directive was issued to give citizenship to qualified foreigners of various professions as part of the “Vision-2030” announced by Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia.

Muktar Alim is currently pursuing his PhD at the renowned Umm al-Qura University in Mecca.

He has also worked as a calligrapher for the holders of diploma, postgraduate and PhD certificates from the same university.
