Muslims celebrate Eid-e-Miladunnabi in Bangladesh, elsewhere

With due religious dignity and fervor, the Muslim devotees of the country is celebrating the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi (PBUH) across the country and elsewhere.

On this day the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born and he died on the same lunar day.

Various governmental and non-governmental organisations have taken a number of programmes to celebrate the day.

On this day, the devotees perform milad-mahfil in the mosque as well as perform various religious acts.

Today (Wednesday) is a public holiday on the occasion of Eid Miladunnabi.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have given separate messages on the occasion of Holy Eid Miladunnabi.

President Abdul Hamid said in the message, ‘Holy Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH) is a very holy and glorious day for the Muslims all over the world. The great Allah sent Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) as ‘Rahmatullah-l-Alameen’ i.e. the mercy of the whole world. He came into the world in the form of 'Sirajam Munira' i.e. the shining lamp.

In her message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "The teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) should be followed by all mankind in religious and worldly life." Following the noble ideals of the Prophet (peace be upon him) lies in the infinite welfare, success and peace for the Muslims. Peace, justice and welfare of the world can be ensured only living a unique life that was performed by the beloved Prophet (peace be upon him), following his universal teachings and Sunnah and worship during today's fight with the Coronavirus.

The Islamic Foundation has taken various programmes on the occasion of the holy Eid Miladunnabi (PBUH).

Mainiya Maizbhandaria of Anjuman Rahmania held a procession in celebration of the day in the capital. A procession took place in front of Ramna Engineers Institution this morning

After the procession, an international peace rally at the Institution of Engineers, would follow.

Religious leaders, intellectuals, Sufis and philosophers from abroad took part in the discussion.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born on this day about 1,400 years ago. He left this world on the same lunar day at the age of 63. Miladunnabi (peace be upon him) is celebrated on 12 Rabiul Awal Eid, the day of birth and death of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
