University of Dhaka gets its life back after nearly 19 months as the Academic Council authorises classroom teaching from Sunday.

The students looked joyful and energetic and roared with laughter when they saw each other after a historic longtime as Coronavirus reigned in across the country and forced the government to shutdown factories, trade and educational institutions.

Earlier, even though online classes were being conducted, there was no joy as the Covid-19 pandemic frightened all.

From now on, the students and the faculty members will take part in the classroom teachings and examinations.

The university library reopened on September 26 for Honor’s fourth year and Master’s students followed by reopening of halls on October 10, respectively.

However, in order to prevent any contamination and control the coronavirus, the classes will be conducted only after complying with some prerequisites, such as administering the students and faculty members minimum one dose of vaccination.

According to a decision of the Academic Council of the University last Thursday, classes can be conducted online and offline at Dhaka University.

In this case, all faculties must take at least 60 percent physical classes.
