Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has decreased trading days but increased trading hours in tandem with banking transactions.
The stock market will have three trading sessions instead of the usual five from next week as the banks will remain closed on Sunday and Wednesday, said BSEC spokesman Mohammad Rezaul Karim.
And the trading hours have been extended by an hour until 2:30 pm, he said.
With the extension, the stock market got its normal trading hours from 10 am to 2.30 pm.
The securities regulator reshuffled the trading sessions and hours following the central bank’s decision to change banking transactions due to the rise in coronairus cases and deaths.
After the Eid holidays, the share trading continued from 10 am to 1 pm.
