Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has formed a seven-member committee to investigate the technical fault suffered by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) a week ago

Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) has formed a seven-member committee to investigate the technical fault suffered by the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) a week ago.

The committee has been asked to report back by next 30 days, sources at the BSEC.

The move comes after the DSE had to suspend share trading for 81 minutes on July 18.

Hafiz Md. Hasan Babu, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Dhaka University is the head of the committee.

The other members of the committee are professor Mohammad Yunus Ali and Professor Md Sohrab Hossain (Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology-BUET), Professor Kazi Muhaymin-us-Sakib and Professor Md Abdur Razzak (Institute of Information Technology, University of Dhaka), Habibullah N Karim (Coordinator, Blockchain Olympiad Bangladesh) and BSEC Deputy Director Shahidul Islam.

The expert committee will also assist the IT department of DSE in managing the third party Order Management System (OMS) formed for stockbrokers or TREC holders.
