Govt takes all preparations ahead of Ramadan: Tipu Munshi

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Wednesday said the Government has been taking all kinds of preparations to control the market by maintaining supply of daily necessities including ‘dates’ for the upcoming month of Ramadan.

“All kinds of measures are being taken by the government so that the people can easily buy dates and other daily necessities during the holy month of Ramadan,” he said, reports BSS.

He said this after inaugurating the family smart card distribution and affordable product sale program organised by Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) at TCB Bhaban here, said a press release.

In response to a question, the commerce minister said that TCB card holders will definitely get the product once every month.

"The government is also selling the products through truck for low income people. Three hundred people have the opportunity to get these products from one truck,” he added.

Among others, Senior Secretary of the Commerce Ministry Tapan Kanti Ghosh and TCB Chairman Brigadier General Md. Ariful Hasan spoke on the occasion.
