Dhaka, Ctg stocks maintain gaining streak

Country's both the bourses, Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), on Tuesday witnessed an upward trend like earlier as investors continued their buying spree on large-cap issues amid optimism.
DSEX, the prime index of the DSE, went up by 3.17 points or 0.05 percent to settle at 6,247.57, reports BSS.
The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also gained 1.79 point to finish at 1,359.05. But, the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, closed the day 0.66 point down at 2,113.52.
Turnover, a crucial indicator of the market, decreased to Tk 4,600.02 million on the country's premier bourse which was Tk 4,917.86 million at the previous session of the week.
Out of 324 issues traded, 60 closed green, 94 in the red and 170 remained unchanged on the DSE trading floor.
CENTRALPHL topped the turnover chart, followed by KPPL, FUWANGFOOD, SKTRIMS and EMERALDOIL.
CAPITECGBF was the day's best performer, posting a gain of 10 percent while GQBALLPEN was the worst loser, losing 7.51 percent.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also ended higher with the CSE All Share Price Index - CASPI -advancing11.41 points to settle at 18,523.31 and the Selective Categories Index - CSCX gaining 6.95 points to close at 11,077.58.
Of the issues traded, 49 advanced, 39 declined and 92 remained unchanged on the CSE.
