Govt to procure 38 lakh tonnes of fuel oil in 2024

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) today approved a proposal under which the government would procure some 38 lakh metric tons of refined fuel oil under Direct Procurement Method (DPM) from January to December period of the next calendar year.
The approval came from the 27th meeting of the CCEA this year held today virtually with Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal in the chair.
Briefing reporters after the meeting virtually, Cabinet Division additional secretary Sayeed Mahbub Khan said that the Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) under the Energy and Mineral Resources Division would procure this 3.8 million metric tons of fuel oil under G to G basis.
Out of these 38 lakh metric tons of fuel oil, the BPC would procure 23.40 lakh metric tons of gas oil, 3.75 lakh metric tons of Jet-A 1, 2.75 lakh metric tons of mogas, 7.50 lakh metric tons of furnace oil and 60,000 metric tons of marine fuel
