Stocks perform mixed

Dhaka stocks on Wednesday performed mixed with major indices finishing flat.

The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 4.04 points up at 6,281.25. The blue-chip DS30 and Shariah DSES closed the day with 0.04 point down at 2,193.32 and with 0.51 point down at 1,368.01.

The day's trade value at DSE decreased to Taka 7,119.86 million from Tuesday's Taka 7,442.95 million.

At DSE, out of the day's 360 securities, prices of 105 securities closed higher against 66 losing issues.

The major gaining issues were CLICL, AL-HAJTEX, Meghna Insurance, ICICL and Islami Insurance. The major losing companies were NTC, GBB Power, KBPPWBIL, BE Welding and MJLBD.

BSC topped the turnover list followed by Interco, SEAPEARL, Rupali Life and AGNISYSL.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with a downward trend with its major CASPI 23.74 points up at 18,505.21.

At CSE, 246 issues were traded. Of those, 81 closed higher and 43 closed lower when 52.93 lakh shares worth Taka 15.37 crore changed hands, reports BSS.
