Broiler chicken price to be decreased by Tk 30-40 per kg: DG of DNCRP

The price of broiler chicken will come down by Tk 30 to Tk 40 per kilogram as the farms’ owners agreed to ensure supply at Tk 190-195 per kilogram during the month of Ramadan.
AHM Shafiquzzaman, director general of the Directorate of National Consumers Right Protection (DNCRP) came up with the announcement during a press conference held at its office in Dhaka on Thursday.
in the day, he held a meeting with the farm owners and traders over the current prices of broiler chicken in the market.
“Discussion was held with Kazi, CP, Paragon, and Aftab farms’ representatives and we reached a consensus over the poultry chicken price,” he said.
Currently, broiler chicken is now being sold at Tk 220 to Tk 230 per kilogram from the farms, he said.
But the farm owners agreed to sell broiler chicken from the farms at Tk 190 to Tk 195 per kilogram during Ramadan.
The decision on reducing wholesale prices will have an impact on consumers’ level, he expressed his optimism.
