Stocks begin week on happy note

Stocks opened higher on Sunday, the first day of the week, after a modest rise in the previous week.
First 30 minutes into trade, the benchmark DSEX gained 46 points or 0.84 percent to 5562.
Other indices, the DSES rose marginally about 4 points or 0.33 percent to 1,252 and blue-chip DS30 was up over 29 points or 1.37 percent to 2,141.
Out of issues so far traded, 143 advanced, 53 declined and 76 remained unchanged.
