World Investor Week begins on October 3

The county’s capital market regular Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is going to celebrate World Investor Week from October 3-13.

As a member of the International Organization of Securities (IOSCO), an association of market regulators, BSEC will celebrate the occasion with various programmes, said a press release issued by the commission on Thursday. 

BSEC Executive Director and Spokesperson Mohammad Rezaul Karim said a ten-day programme has been undertaken on the occasion of World Investor Week.

During these ten days, several meetings and seminars will take place every day to create awareness among investors, he added.

The inaugural function of the World Investor Week will be held at the BSEC Multipurpose Hall.

Abdur Rouf Talukder, governor of Bangladesh Bank will be present as the chief guest at the opening ceremony.

Besides, Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah, secretary of the financial department of the Ministry of Finance will be present as a special guest.

BSEC Chairman Professor Shibli Rubaiyat Ul Islam will preside over the event.

The closing ceremony will be held at La Meridian Hotel in the capital. The event will be organised by Central Depository Bangladesh Limited (CDBL) and CCBL.

It should be noted that since 2017, BSEC has been celebrating World Investor Week every year in Bangladesh.
