Turnover on DSE slows down at midday

Dhaka Stock Exchange market situation

Turnover or the value of the shares traded reached over Tk 539 crore in the first 45 minutes into the trade, a trend that showed it may cross Tk 3,000 crore for the second day in a week.

As time goes on, turnover starts getting down as sellers outpaced buyers and it impacted the indices and transactions.

At 12-14 pm, turnover stands at Tk 1,124 crore which indicates it may end up at around Tk1,500-Tk 1,600 crore.

However, like the previous few sessions, the DSE started trading on a positive note on Sunday.

In the first 45 minutes into the trade, over Tk 539 crore worth of shares were transacted and the trend shows that it may cross Tk 3,000 crore at the end of the day, according to DSE data.

Meanwhile, the benchmark index of DSE, DSEX has increased over 29 points or 0.45 percent to 6,593. But it went down 12 points at 12-26 pm.

Among other indices, the shariah-based DSES was up by 5.96 points or 0.41 percent and the blue-chip DS-30 rose by 3.70 points or 0.15 percent.

So far Unique Hotel, Orion Pharma, Eastern Housing, Beximco Limited and BSC were the top five traded stocks.

Earlier, on Thursday, DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse, increased by over 12 points or 0.19 percent to settle the day at 6,564.

Among other indices, the shariah-based DSES rose by 0.37 points or 0.02 percent and the blue-chip DS-30 was down by 9.13 points or 0.38 percent.
