Soybean oil price slashed by Tk6 a litre

The price of bottled soybean oil has been reduced by Tk 6 per litre. Now, consumers have to pay Tk 199 for a litre, down from Tk 205.  

On Sunday evening, the Bangladesh Vegetable Oil Refiners and Vanaspati Manufacturers Association came up with the announcement of the new price of this edible oil variety which is widely used in the country. 

The new price will be effective From Monday.  

Earlier in the day, Senior Commerce Secretary Tapan Kanti Ghosh said the edible oil prices in the local markets were likely to go down in a couple of days as the prices of the oil also dropped in the international markets.
