Dhaka stocks open flat on Thursday after a regulatory move to reset the circuit breaker to stop big slide.

In the first 30 minutes into the trade, the benchmark index of DSE, DSEX has decreased by over 6 points or 0.11 percent.

Among other indices, the shariah-based DSES was down by 2.31 points or 0.17 percent and the blue-chip DS-30 declined 4.92 points or 0.21 percent.

Over Tk 49 crore worth of shares transacted so far in DSE, where BSC, Beximco, Shinepukur Ceramics, JHRML and Emerald Oil were the top five traded stocks.

Earlier, on Wednesday, DSEX, the broader index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, dropped over 23 points or 0.38 percent to settle at 6,187 at the end of the day.

Among the two other indices, the shariah-based DSES decreased 3.82 points or 0.27 percent and blue-chip DS30 declined 7.06 points or 0.30 percent.

Shares of the 375 companies traded on the day, of which 76 firms gained, 250 lost and 49 remained unchanged.

The DSE saw a turnover of Tk 513 crore, down by Tk 147 crore from the previous session.
