Stocks rally propelled by Beximco Ltd after many days

After many days Beximco Limited dominated the stock market as it gained over 5 percent and contributed significantly to the index, Dhaka Stock Exchange data shows.

The benchmark index, DSEX, went up by 33 points to close the day at 7,089 and the turnover reached over Tk 1,735 crore, up from Tk 1,712 crore in the previous session. Beximco Limited alone accounted for over 10 percent of the turnover on the day.

Share price of Beximco Limited increased by Tk 7.6 or 5.27 percent, which contributed over 18 points to the increase of the index on Wednesday.

Until November 2021 share of Beximco Limited was the most-demanded item for investors and its price reached to Tk 185 on November 11 last year from less than Tk 20 around 18 months ago.
