DSE indices on Wednesday
Stocks sank on Wednesday, with the benchmark index falling by more than 96 points or 1.37 percent, as a tripartite meeting involving the finance ministry, central bank and capital market regulator to fix banks’ investments in stocks ended inclusively on Tuesday.
In addition, the detection of a new coronavirus variant in South Africa appeared to be a concern for many countries, including neighbouring India.
DSEX dropped by over 96 points to close at 6,952.
Beximco Limited and Walton were the top two index draggers on the day.
