Dhaka stocks in the red for 4th day in a row

With the trading closed at the end of the week on Thursday, DSEX, the overall index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange saw a fall for four consecutive days.
DSEX finished the day 5 points down to 7,243, which dipped to intraday low at 7,195 points.
Turnover nosedived by 26 percent to Tk 1,434 crore on Thursday, lowest since July 28.
Mostaque Ahmed Sadeque, managing director of Investment Promotion Services and former president of the DSE Brokers Association, said the market went through corrections this week.
“Some investors panicked and sold their shares that pulled the market down,” Sadeque told the Business Insider Bangladesh.
Of the shares traded, 114 scripts saw a price rise, 219 declined and 43 remained unchanged.
Pharmaceuticals and chemicals was the most traded sector followed by banks. Of the individual scripts, Fortune Shoes was the most active share on the day.
