Stocks open flat

Dhaka stocks opened sharply higher on Sunday but the momentum eventually diminished after 10 minutes.

In the first 40 minutes into the trade, the benchmark index DSEX shed 13 points or 0.18 percent to settle at 7,214 points.

Other indices, the shariah-based DSES index fell by 5 points or 0.28 percent to 1,572 and the blue-chip DS30 index dropped by 9 points or 0.32 percent to 2,665.

In last week, DSEX fell by 30.43 points or 0.42 percent to close at 7,228.31 points.

Among other indices, the shariah index fell by 15.21 points or 0.96 percent to 1577.10 points and the DSE-30 index rose by 27.41 points or 1.04 percent to 2674.55 points.
