Stocks witness up on large-cap vibe

Stocks on Tuesday witnessed upward trend as major indices of both Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges were found rising with higher activities of some large-cap securities.

DSEX, the prime index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), went up by 6.26 points or 0.10 percent to settle at 6,245.24, reports BSS.

The DSE Shariah Index (DSES) also followed the same trend with 1.99 points to close at 1,365.73. But, the DSE 30 Index, comprising blue chips, closed the day with 1.29 point down to finish at 2,087.64.

At DSE, out of the day's 338 securities, prices of 90 securities closed higher against 69 losing issues.

The day's trade value at the DSE increased to Tk 4,607.19 million which was Tk 4,120.52 million at the previous session of the week.

The major gaining issues were BDTHAI, KPPL, 1STPRIMFMF, FUWANGCER and GLDNJMF. The major losing companies were SEAPEARL, STANCERAM, SONALIANSH, BEACHHATCH and IMAMBUTTON.

The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with an upward trend with its major CASPI 13.29 points up at 18,521.17.

At the CSE, 208 issues were traded. Of those, 54 closed higher and 46 closed lower when 50.19 lakh shares worth Tk 13.67 crore changed hands.
