43rd BCS written exam for professional, technical cadre deferred

Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) has rescheduled the written examinations of 43rd BCS for professional and technical cadres.

However, the written examinations of compulsory subjects will be held as per schedule, said a PSC notification on Monday, reports BSS.

As per revised schedule, subject-wise written examinations of the technical and professional cadres will be held from September 5 to September 9 which was earlier, scheduled to begin on August 2.

Written examinations of compulsory subjects will commence on July 24 and will continue till 31 July.

The centres, seat plan and directives of the written examinations of 43rd BCS will be published on the PSC website in appropriate time.

As many as 435,190 job seekers applied to attend the BCS preliminary test last year. Out of them, 321,650 took the exams at 369 centres across the country on Oct 29 amid the coronavirus pandemic.

A total of 15,229 candidates passed the 43rd BCS preliminary exams. On Nov 30, 2020, the commission published circular for the 43rd BCS preliminary exams to appoint 1,814 government officials in different posts.

These include 550 posts in general cadre, 310 in technical cadre, 843 in education cadre, 12 in teachers training college and 99 in technical education cadre.
