Govt stick to plan of factory closure in post-Eid lockdown

Garment factories will remain closed in the upcoming 14-day lockdown starting from July 23.

Exporters confirmed the matter to the Business Insider Bangladesh on Monday. They said the government is stick to its plan to keep the all types of factories shut in the post-Eid lockdown.

Mohammad Hatem, first vice president of the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA), told the Business Insider Bangladesh that as the government did not allow them to keep the factories open, they will comply with the closure order.

The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) said it will issue a press release later on the day.
