Non-life insurance stocks continue to rally

Dhaka (Oct 21, 2020): Benchmark indices of Dhaka Stock Exchange, DSEX ended flat on Tuesday.

But the insurance sector offset the losses by other sectors’ stocks.

At close, the DSEX ended 0.4 point lower to 4,916.85 points, while the DS30 index closed the day 0.68 point higher to 1,695 points.

Of the top 10 gainer-lists, all were non-life insurance stocks. Asia Insurance topped the chart with 10 percent increase, followed by Eastern insurance and Asia Pacific Insurance.

BIFC, a non-bank financial institution, was the top loser in DSE on Tuesday.

Of the stocks traded, 109 witnessed price hike, 178 declined and 67 unchanged.
