FBCCI must be modern organisation to address LDC-graduation challenges: Tipu Munshi

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi urged the country's businesses to be prepared for the challenges after Bangladesh graduated from the status of the least developed country (LDC).
"The FBCCI has to be more proactive and a modern organisation to address the challenges," the minister told the newly-elected office-bearers of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI).
The 45-member committee led by its President Md. Jashim Uddin paid a courtesy call on the minister at the secretariat in the capital on Monday, said a press release.
The government is taking preparation to address the post-LDC challenges forming sector-wise sub-committees. Besides, it is trying to ink preferential trade agreement with different countries, Munshi said.
He urged the FBCCI leaders to play a crucial role to take the activities in advance.
FBCCI President Jashim Uddin talked about the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2021-22 and hailed several budgetary measures.
In the visit, his team assured the minister of their best efforts to address post-LDC and SDG challenges.
FBCCI president urged the government to take business-friendly policies and initiatives to promote the country's exports.
