Beximco gets 3 govt projects worth Tk 356cr

Bangladesh Export Import Company (Beximco) has signed three agreements with the government to implement three IT-related projects worth Tk 356.5 crore.

The company made a contract with the Central Procurement Technical Unit of the Planning Ministry’s ‘Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Division’ to implement a project worth Tk 47.5 crore, according to a statement issued on Sunday.

Under the agreement, Beximco in partnership with Dohatech New Media and DotGov Solutions LLC, USA, will jointly create a modern full-fledged electronic project management information system or e-PMIS.

A cyber range will be set up at the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) under the project.

Beximco Computers Limited, a subsidiary of Beximco, earlier signed another agreement worth Tk 48 crore for two projects of Bangladesh Computer Council.

Besides, it has jointly teamed up with Tech Mahindra Limited of India and Tech Valley Networks Limited of Bangladesh to set up an online food storage and market monitoring system worth Tk 261 crore.

The World Bank is financing this project of the Food Department of the Government of Bangladesh. An agreement in this regard will be signed soon.

Listed in 989, Beximco has a paid-up capital of Tk 876.32 crore. Of the figure, investors hold 69.45 percent. On Monday, its share price fell 5.5 percent to Tk 91 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
