Master plan plays important role to boost productivity

Role of the 10-year master plan is very important for boosting productivity as it has been infusing dynamism into the process of economic improvement.

The ten-year master plan 2021-2030 has been formulated with the main thrust of strengthening productivity in different sectors, including agriculture, industries and services, through facing natural disasters and the adverse impact of climate change in the country.

Administrative officials came up with the observation while addressing a seminar titled "Productivity Improvement through Implementation of the Bangladesh National Productivity Master Plan" here on Thursday.

District administration organized the seminar at its conference hall supported by the National Productivity Organization (NPO).

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shamim Ahmed addressed the seminar as the focal person giving an overview of the master plan and its development aspects.

Deputy Director of Local Government Division Ashraful Islam and Additional DCs Kolyan Chowdhury and Sarker Asim Kumar also spoke.

DC Shamim Ahmed said productivity in industries, services and agriculture has been enhanced through the master plan. The present Bangladesh has been advancing on the development highway under the prudent and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

After elevation from the least developed country, the country is now on the path of becoming a middle-incoming one.

Through the implementation of the master plan, the quality of products and capacity of competence and innovation skills will reach a satisfactory level side by side with enhancing productivity in industries.

He also said the plan has been prepared to help the country achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, implement the Eighth Five-Year Plan, and improve productivity, quality and competitiveness.

The government is working to implement the plan to increase productivity at the national level.
