Kaus Miah honoured as best taxpayer of Mujib Borsho

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) honoured Hakimpuri Zarda company owner Kaus Miah as the best taxpayer of Mujib Borsho, the year marks the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The 90-year-old businessman got this recognition for his transparency in paying the real amount of tax at the right time.

The NBR, in a program on Friday handed over a crest, certificate and bucket of flower to the Kaus and other top taxpayers at its headquarters in the capital.

Kaus Mia has retained the position of the top taxpayer under the businessman category for the last few years.

He has been paying tax for the last 63 years in his 71 years of business carrier and won the highest taxpayer award 14 times.

In an immediate reaction, Kaus told the media that he did never feel such delightfulness in his long carrier. 

At the programme, NBR Chairman Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem greeted the taxpayers and expressed gratitude towards them for their contributions to the country’s economy.
