Cabinet for feasibility of milk reservoirs in each district

The cabinet has directed authorities to look into the possibility of setting up dairy farm milk tanks in every district to conserve milk produced in the country.
The directive was given at a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on Sunday.
The PM attended the meeting virtually from Ganabhaban and the Ministers, State Ministers from the respective meeting room of the Cabinet Division at the Secretariat.
After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam told reporters that the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock had brought the ‘Bangladesh Dairy Development Board Act-2022’ for a policy approval.
“If storage facilities can be built in every district, our producers will be benefited. This will also make a big difference in terms of protein intake of citizens.”
The Secretary further said, “The Department of Cooperatives, Milkvita, the Ministry of Commerce, especially the safe food authority, will sit with the Consumers Association of Bangladesh so that no duplication or interference takes place.”
