Toll rates for Padma Bridge fixed

The government on Tuesday issued a notification about the toll rates of Padma Multipurpose Bridge.

As per the notification issued by development sub-branch under the road transport and bridges ministry, the one-way toll rate for crossing the bridge for motorbikes has been at Tk 100, Tk 750 for jeeps, Tk 1,200 for pick-up vans, Tk 1,300 for microbuses, Tk 1,400 for minibuses, Tk 2,000 for medium buses, and Tk 2,400 for large buses.

Besides, the rate for small trucks (up to 5 tonnes) was set at Tk 1,600, for trucks with capacity of 5-8 tonnes Tk 2,800, Tk 5,500 for three-axle trucks, Tk 6,000 for trailer trucks (up to four-axle) , and Tk 6,000 for trailers over four-axles and Tk 1,500 extra for each axles.

The tolls will come into effect from the day the bridge starts operation, according to the notification.

The bridge connects Louhajong, Munshiganj to Shariatpur and Madaripur, across the river Padma, linking the south-west of the country, to northern and eastern regions.
