Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim has instructed project managers to ensure transparency and responsibility of their project works.
Rezaul was speaking at a meeting in the conference room of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock at the Secretariat on Wednesday.
The meeting reviewed the implementation progress of 10 projects, including four under the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute (BFRI) and six under the Bangladesh Livestock Research Institute (BLRI), in the annual development programme of FY2020-21 until December 2020.
“There should not be any slack in the implementation of the project amid the coronavirus crisis. The work of the projects must be sincerely expedited,” he further said.
“There is no chance to stop the development work by excuses. Stakeholders need to be vigilant to avoid any complaints or irregularities in the project."
Addressing the project managers, the minister said, "Let me know if anyone is unable to fulfil their responsibilities. We do not want to force anyone to take responsibility. If there is any problem with the implementation of the project, we have to bring it forward. All kinds of cooperation will be provided by the ministry."
Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Raunak Mahmud, Additional Secretaries Shah Mohammad Imdadul Haque and Shyamal Chandra Karmakar, Yahya Mahmud, director general of the BLRI, and Mohammad Taufiqul Arif, director general of the BFRI, were also present at the meeting.
