Dhaka stocks opened lower in a volatile trade on Monday morning as investors continued to opt for booking profits.
The market was in the positive terrain for a brief period, but slipped into the red due to profit-booking.
First 30 minutes into trade, the benchmark DSEX was down 21 points or 0.37 percent to 5,828.
Other indices, the DSES edged over 1 point or 0.12 percent down to 1,297 and blue-chip DS30 shed 17 points or 0.78 percent to 2,191.
