BEPZA seeks more South Korean investment in economic zone

Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman has sought more South Korean investment in the EPZs and BEPZA Economic Zone.

BEPZA chief made the calls while welcoming Ambassador of South Korea to Bangladesh Lee Jang-Keun at Dhaka EPZ on Thursday, said a press release.

“The authority always gives priority to the business-related issues of South Korean investors to run their business smoothly in EPZ,” said Ziaur Rahman.

The Korean ambassador assured BEPZA of providing best support to increase South Korean investment in EPZs and BEPZA Economic Zone.

The envoy also expressed satisfaction with the overall production-oriented peaceful environment prevailing in EPZ and the role of BEPZA in the economic development of Bangladesh.

Besides, Ambassador Lee along with the BEPZA chief inaugurated ‘KOICA Vision Centre’ which is established for providing free eye care services to the EPZ workers at Dhaka EPZ Hospital.

They also visited Korean garment manufacturing company Youngone Hi-tech Sportswear Ind Ltd and cap manufacturing company Dhakarea Ltd.

The envoy praised the overall working atmosphere of these two factories operating in EPZ.
