Chinese company to extract coal worth Tk1,049cr in next 6 years

The extraction of coal by the incumbent Chinese company at Barapukuria Coal Mine has been given responsibilities to mine the fossil fuel for the next 6 years, officials said.
The Chinese consortium of XMC-CMC has been approved to extract coal worth Tk 1,049.49 crore at Barapukuria mine of Dinajpur district.
The approval was given at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Public Purchase and Economic Affairs on Wednesday.
The purchase proposals were approved at a virtual meeting chaired by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal. The meeting was attended by members of the committee, senior secretaries of the cabinet departments, secretaries of the ministries concerned and senior officials.
