FBCCI leaders off to US to attend UN General Assembly

A high-level trade delegation of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) left Dhaka for the United States on Sunday evening to attend the 76th General Assembly of the United Nations as the entourage of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Md Jashim Uddin, president, FBCCI is leading the business delegation.

While in the United States, apart from attending the General Assembly the FBCCI delegation will join various programmes to be held there, said a press release.

The delegation will take part in a meeting titled ‘Bangladesh Forward: The New Frontier for Growth’ to be organised by the US-Bangladesh Business Council on Tuesday in honour of prime minister Sheikh Hasina and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Bangladesh’s independence.

The FBCCI president will attend the conference titled ‘New World New Hope: United Nations and Bangladesh’ to be organised on the side line of the UN General Assembly on Thursday.

The FBCCI trade delegation will be present at the Deliver of Statement at the 76th Session of the UN General Assembly on Friday. FBCCI leaders will take part in a business meeting organised by the US-Bangladesh Business Alliance (ABBA) that evening.

The FBCCI president will be the special guest at the conference titled “New World New Hope: US-Bangladesh Socio-Economic Perspectives” organised by NRB Worldwide on Sunday.

The trade delegation is accompanied by FBCCI Officials Mohammad Mamunur Rahman and Khan Md Nure Alam Siddiquie.

After the visit, the FBCCI delegation is expected to leave New York for Dhaka on September 27.
