Bangladesh is all set to participate in the six-month-long international exhibition in Dubai scheduled to be held between October 1 this year and March 31 next year, as a part of its efforts to highlight the promising economy and brighten its brand image before the world.

The decision was taken in a special meeting organised by the commerce ministry on Wednesday with Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi in the chair, said a press release.

Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) President Syed Almas Kabir called for re-branding Bangladesh in the exposition.

“The expo to be held in Dubai is a great opportunity to present Bangladesh in a new way to the world,” he said.

He added that Bangladesh has more than 1 million skilled manpower in the IT and ITES sector.

“In this expo, arrangements should be made to showcase digital products and services made in Bangladesh,” Kabir said.

At the same time, the president also expressed his desire to hold a B2B meeting at the international event.
