BGMEA president calls on former US ambassador Bernicat

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) President Faruque Hassan and Vice-President Miran Ali have called on Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, Senior Official for Economic Growth, Energy, and the Environment and Acting Assistant Secretary for Oceans and International Environmental and Scientific Affairs, also a former US ambassador to Bangladesh,  in Washington DC.

Ambassador of Bangladesh to the USA M Shahidul Islam and Director of Giant Group Sharmeen Hassan Tithi took part in the visit on September 11, said a press release.

The BGMEA president thanked the former envoy for her role in strengthening the relations between Bangladesh and the USA during her tenure in Dhaka.

Terming Bernicat as a good friend and well-wisher of Bangladesh, Faruque Hassan sought her support and cooperation to represent the narrative of Bangladesh readymade garment industry's journey in her country as she was closely involved with the development and transformation of Bangladesh garment industry.
