UN official says Russia’s economy grew by 2.7% in 2023

Russia's economy grew by 2.7 percent in 2023, and is projected to increase by 1.3 percent in 2024, Shantanu Mukherjee, Director of the Economic Analysis and Policy Division of the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA), said during a briefing.

"We estimated that <...> in 2023 the Russian economy grew by 2.7 percent <...> and we expect this growth to moderate to 1.3 percent in 2024," he said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the national GDP would go up by 3.5 percent by the end of 2023, which shows the stability of its economy, reports BSS/TASS.
