Stocks open higher; Orion, Beximco most active

Dhaka stock market opens higher for the fourth day in a row riding on regulatory support and investors’ participation.

DSEX, the broader index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange gained 39 points or 0.61 percent to 6,432 after one and a half hours into the trade at 11-30 am.

The other two indices – DSES and DS30 also rose 7 points each.

Of the sectors, buying is seen in pharmaceuticals & chemicals and textiles while bank and insurance stocks are under pressure.

Aramit Cement gained the highest 9.96 percent and is being traded at Tk 28.7 a share.

The turnover trend shows it can go up significantly at the end of the session at 2-30 pm.
