BAT Bangladesh declares 300% interim dividend

British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited (BATBC) has declared a 300 percent interim dividend for the year 2020. 

The dividend was decided at a meeting of the company’s board of directors on Wednesday.

An interim dividend is a dividend payment made before a company's annual general meeting (AGM) and the release of final financial statements. This declared dividend usually accompanies the company's interim financial statements.

According to the company data, BATBC declared the dividend on the basis of reviewing the financial statements for the first nine months (January-September) of 2020.

The company’s earnings per share (EPS) for July-September was Tk15.10 against Tk14.79 during the same period last year. 

In the January-September period this year, EPS was Tk48.45 against Tk35.95 last year. 

Net operating cash flow per share of the company for January-September 2020 was Tk63.61 against Tk62.10 in 2019. 

The net asset value of BATBC’s share has been calculated as Tk207.31 as of September 30 of the running year. It was Tk198.85 at the end of 2019. 

British American Tobacco Bangladesh is one of the largest multinational corporations operated by British American Tobacco in Bangladesh for over a century. 

The company is listed on both the Dhaka Stock Exchange and the Chittagong Stock Exchange.
