Bangladesh reports first zero Covid death after June 29

Bangladesh logged 216 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours until 8am Sunday, while no death was reported during this period. 

The rate of positivity stood at 5.10 percent after testing 4,233 samples from across the country, according to the daily notification from the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday evening.

The number of death tally remains unchanged at 29,304, while the number of total infected rose to 2,007,335.

As per the statement, 720 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, and 1,948,027 people have recovered so far.

The virus was first detected in the country on March 8 in 2020 and the first death was reported on March 18 of the same year.
